Adobe Encore CS3 Problem

This probably isn't the proper group to post this question to but there is
none specific to Adobe Encore so I figured I'd try here.
Encore CS3 had been working fine until recently when it suddenly began to
take quite a long time to load (3 minutes). It hangs on "Initializing Media
Layer" for the longest time and finally moves on and opens.
I've searched online for solutions bur haven't come across anything that
works.
Any help would be appreciated.
