RAW images on PS CS2-Help!

Anybody, help?
i shot some images in RAW+Jpeg mode on Canon Rebel Digital XT.
i downloaded them onto my PC-windows XP.
when i tried to use Photoshop CS2 to open them i get a program error and
they don't open.
in bridge i can see the jpeg thumbnail images but the Raw images are simply
listed as CR2.
under file the open RAW option is grayed out so i cannot use it.
when i use ctrl O to try to open them i get the program error.
what am i doing wrong?
i have the PS CS on my computer as well, and i tried opening it there-no
luck.
on the other hand they open easy on the Canon Digital Rebel XT image editing
software program.

Help!
any advise will be great!
