I agree with Tolstoy on that point. The people are the ones who fight
and they do so gladly when they are led by the nose ring of patriotic
slogans and songs  to march off to their deaths

I don't think they will stop being cannon fodder unless and until they
wake up to the fact that war is a racket. The big wigs and brass
hatswho profit without risking ought to and need to be accountable for
their perfidy, or it will never stop. Know justice know Peace!
