This is a bit odd of a response I adnit for an OREGON 420, but there
is better free camping, better weather, and even better hotsprings in
the Garden Valley/Crouch Idaho area. Elevation is around 3100.

I did not borrow anything!  Family found the beautiful spring.  Family
tapped it. Family put the filter on it. and Family Drank it.  Shit
happens at Gatherings but there aint no mistakes, Capable people went
with the filter and it was a god send where it ended up.

We are in the first stages of putting a 420 gathering together with
the Idea of being close but not too close to Washington, having more
options is always good. Can you give more detail about actual spots
where you think we could gather?

i think the hard thing about a oregon gathering is the fact much of
both washington and oregon require that damned northwest forest pass
in alot of nice places, plenty of places left tho, just the nice ones
are covered by the pass. the spring is doable, a group doesn't have to
be that close to the river, shoot should be away from the river
anyway, there are a few spots close to there where wood and other nice
things can be found, a filter could be used to get water from the
river, but hopefully it covers nasties in the water, alot of animals
upstream. like i said keep track of the river to be sure its not
raging to make it safer for the kids who are sometimes foolish in the
things they attempt. if it wasn't for the pass, i know of an very old
campground that has piped running spring water and used to be a cc
camp within 100 miles of vancouver, and its hasn't been used in
years(50) by anyone. won't have to worry about the road in as its
washed out, thats what makes it nice, no one can get there unless they
walk in. not even forest service, but that damn pass is required for
that area. its not far from the berry picking area either, that is
exclusive for ndn's.

I have not had to deal with the pass you talk about. Another
Government hook It sounds like. The more I hear about the Juntura
spot the more I like it, It is BLM land with room enough to have a
spot off the road and out of site. As more people plug in and commit
to going we might get more options on where to go.
