theres been comments about it now being illegal in some states to

Nothing like a GOOD long-range lens. Stills can tell a better story
than vid (commonly, in my exp.) then it's the photographer and his
dance w/LadyLuck.
Once the documentation has been submitted to the court (Court of
PubOpin) there's little that can be done (OOPs).
