I think it's incorrect to say "gatherings are violent". The Gathering
is
like a temporary small town that forms, and without a doubt - most of
the
gatherers are non-violent. When there are incidents of violence in
other
small towns, it would not be correct to paint the whole town with the
same
brush and declare that it's a violent town. There are pockets of
violence
everywhere, bar none. Sure, "violent" incidents happen on occasion,
but
in
a crowd that size, it's not a significant statistic. If it was, the
National Guard would be there and there would be no Gathering
whatsoever.

well yep we could state that there is violence instead of the other
way, now just to get people to admit that it happens at all is pretty
damn hard! but many speak of kindness and peace through out the
gathering with no violence, and won't even admit it happens or try to
fix it. i don't really see the need of the national gaurd myself, i
imagine the leos can and do take care of alot of it already,well not
all of it,just the stuff they see. i thought you were going yourself?
why ain't ya gone, i have had a couple of good phone calls from that
area already, the biggest word is rain gear! and stay out of the mud

aids was first thought to be started in africa by passing from an
animal to human in the 40's(oldest sample), just as almost every virus
has passed from some animal to humans.  i think i will pass on the
monkey sounds too gross to me, we are taking our own food anyway.

they say, not hard stuff at all, and is not rampant in the jungles,
now urban yellow fever is hard on folks for sure and no cure for
either type, as of yet but a vaccine, can have syptoms of chronic
hepatitis, or bad febrile illness. and death in some cases. the mild
cases seem to give immunity of sorts. and as usual the culprit is
mosquitoes. thats why we went through so many shots before we came
here. gonna be fun for me, but i think it will scare cathy at first
till she gets used to the animals and other vermin. mike
