Can you at least agree to dry those items after the stones have been
moved into the sweat lodge?

I don't see anyone but you speaking of "Sacred Fires." You sling the
word "sacred" around like a wannabe high-holie, and would put rules on
non-harmful human activity on the pretext of something being holy-shmoly.

Fire is a tool, of universal use. Sisters should feel as free to dry
their just-washed moon cloths by the fire as brothers do to dry their
stinky shoes, or parents their babies' clean diapers. We're all just at
home here, by our own hearths. If you don't like what someone is doing
at their community fire, you are free to find another fire where your
bliss won't be disturbed by reminders of a natural (some might even say
"sacred") function.
I shudder to think how badly your bliss must be disturbed by bean farts
around the after-dinner fire ...

Speaking of Moon Rags and Sacred fires, please sisters ... if you are
entertaining reusable items it is in VERY bad fashion to fire dry
these items at the end of a stick where other people may be blissing
fireside.

Hey,
I just want to share how I have dealt with my moon cycle at the
gatherings for years from a now post moon cycle sister! So I pass on
the things I have learned...
First, my choice was for years, reusable cloth pads for years, but
while at the gathering - it just took too much work - so while I was
gathering I would use other forms - disposables! But I always packed
them out myself...
This is how I did it: I would pack up my supplies in a zip lock bag,
and I packed in the bag -- a small roll of toilet paper, the tampons
or pads, and a small bottle of hand sanitizer. I would pack more zip
lock bags or other bags to keep the used disposables in. I would pack
both of these bags into another bag and it would be ready-to-go if I
came onto my moon cycle at the gathering.
With these bags of goodies I was prepared to take care of myself
wherever I traveled through the gathering. The bag for my used
disposables was very important because I did not want to leave where I
would pee them for others to deal with--- you know we pack it in/ pack
it out!!
I would never want to burden those doing cleanup with my nasty
nasties! Neither would I expect these to be burnt at someones hearth
or sacred fire! There is nothing more discouraging than finding
discarded menstrual disposables in the woods during cleanup!! Those
who do cleanup have to deal with lots of stuff!!
Pack it in Sisters-- Pack it out!
With love, and dreams of a safe, healthy and spectacular gathering!- Hide quoted text -
