Yeah yeah, whutevah authority says...........

You drinking too much these days?

Old Tom

My limit is two, I haven't had any at all in almost a week, but
there's an open mike poetry reading tomorrow evening and I almost
always have one there... Admitting personal bias in answering your
question, I say: "No, I don't drink too much."

I am a common man and understand what is said colloquially without
having to resort to official-dumb beyond dictionaries. I do not
idolize or worship authority as the Source of truth, and I am offended
by authority that is not founded upon truth.

A short list of authority that has no basis in empirical truth:
1) Philosophy: 4,000+ years of arguing which has proven ONLY that
anything that can be said can be argued about.
2) Catholicism: The Pope sat in the magic chair when he said it,
therefore it’s true...
3) Academia that says the professor is always right because he’s the
professor.
4) High Holy hippies.
5) The political séance (necromancy) practiced by the US Supreme Court
when the Justices reach back through the mists of time to converse
with the Framers and get them to contradict the express strictures of
the US Constitution with sophistries.
6) Carla, Queenie, and sometimes her Tra-LaLa “others”; but not
Snarla, her sister Ooo-LaLa, and especially not Trixie!
7) Empiricist philosophy that tries to separate itself from science in
order to play with words and live in the now or future only. [word
gamers]

IOW Tom, I consider what I perceive as the voice of reason, and try
real hard to eschew the reason of voice (hot air sophistries and vapid
academia) as a waste of time.
“Reason obeys itself; Ignorance submits to what is dictated to it.” –
Thomas Paine

I have a mind of my own. I realize my mind is a filter, just like
every other mind extant is a filter, but since it’s my mind I have
sole jurisdiction of my filter’s settings, NOT YOU. I knew you’d
understand. Thanks for understanding. Language is a convention.

Peace, Sanity
