So there you have it... they are all power hungry evil people who all
suck!

Yep: "president" is just a euphemism for "king" and always was.

Sanity

Smoke and mirrors... thats what this country is founded on. But if you
ignore all the bull*** and get a job and pay your bills and raise a
family and ignore all the crap and conspriracy theories then you can
actually havea decent life. Ignorance is bliss

Too late for me then.  My mom had the facility to forget stuff at
will, but its a skill I've never mastered.   <S>

Yeah... me too. But I also have the feeling that what good is it to
know all this stuff and not be able to do anything about it. I
personally don't have much to fear. I am not a criminal or a terrorist
so the odds of me getting sent to guantonamo are pretty slim. So
despite all the bull***... I still think this is the only place on
earth I would like to live. I am an air force brat and grew up on
bases all over the place where patriotism was drilled into us every
day. I remember as a child we would all stand outside the school while
the flag was being raised. then we would have to say the pledge of
allegiance and sing that song "my country tis of thee".

Hard to escape that early training... I still think the US is the
greatest country on earth

-=] RiverMan [=-

I haven't seen 'em all so I don't know.  Are you saing the US is the
greatest *country* on earth, or saying the US has the greatest
*government*?  I love and support this country all the time, but the
government is corrupt, if you haven't noticed...

Sanity

Well... the older I get the more I start to see thru all the bull***.
After watching documentary after documentary on everything from 9/11
to there is no god I am starting to understand a little better about
how all this works. In order to control a populous you need to keep
them afraid and demoralized. I understand that for years we had this
cold war thing going and everyone was always afraid of Russia... then
when their government collapsed we didn't have this big scary country
to fear any more... so what does our government do? They stage the
attacks on the world trade centers and blame it on "terrorists"
OOOooooooo something else, even less tangible, to fear. Then they come
up with the terrorist color code which is never green... always near
the danger level... someones out to get you... always. Bull***!

I just finished watching Michael Moores "Sicko" and after seeing
Zeitgeist, and several others like them I am starting to doubt that
this is the greatest country on earth. In fact... If I were to travel
abroad I think I would be embarrassed to tell people I am from the
USA. And that sux! This country doesn't suck and it's people are
great! But our government has got to change or we are doomed. How
stupid do they think the general public is?

-=] RiverMan [=-

Stupid enough to enlist in the military and follow orders out of blind
trust. I wonder how many of the US Troops that are listed as suicides
aren't really killed because they woke up one day and realized the
reasons they've been given for being there are not the real reasons
they are there, and were still naïve and trusting enough to try to
raise a stink about it... If you vote and haven’t realized your vote
supports a system that treats you like a serf, and gambles your life
the lives of your families away by using them as cannon fodder in
support of corporate greed, wake the *** up! Jeezz!

The INSTITUTION of leaders betraying the trust of troops in order to
get what they want is at least as old as the story of David and
Bathsheba,,,

A percentage of the pubic votes, the Gummint says who won the
election, and there may or may not be a connection beyond the trust
that may or may not be being honored between those two happenings.
IOW, maybe the Gummint is lying.
