I don't have any of those bugs on my pewter and so have no personal

Audacity is free as in Free Speech. You can download, inspect, and
compile the source code Yourself. Unlike proprietary software (even
freeware), there is no need to 'trust' it. You can verify for Yourself
if it does what it claims, and abstains from undesirable behaviour.
Unless Your paranoia is based in ignorance, You have nothing at all to
worry about.
Yeah yeah sure sure Shava, like I’d take the word of someone who
consistently insults me, right... 1) the issue of this particular
software is moot to me as I do not edit music at all; 2) I am no geek
and lack the technical expertise to judge whether or not there is
anything pernicious in the code; 3) I am expressing my views from my
standpoint, not giving advise to anyone; and, 4) Not blindly trusting
strangers and/or insulting Usenet trolls such as yourself is called
cautious, not paranoid.
