In your last paragraph you state I don't idolize people twice. You
might consider leaving off the last I don't idolize people and leave
the first. The first one states your position. The last one might be
construed as defensive.

It is defensive... <chuckle> Self defense is a hobby of mine. The
redundancy is also a plea for people to avoid idolatry and blind
trust. Often repetition is the only way to get through to some
people, that's just the way it is. <shrug>
