<<STUFF DELETED>>>>
( Did I read you do SQLServer DBA ? - I needed one more test for my
MCSD before retired in 2002.)

Old Tom

Yup that's my day job. It pays the bills.

Karin

I did some tored provedure development and archtecture with SQL
Server. Loved playing with the Data mining and DTS stuff that was
coming out as I retired. What you playing with?

I fondly remember the vast amount of money I was overpaid as a
contractor during the last years of the 90's and early new millenium.
I architected lots of n-tier front-ends against SQL server back ends
(mainly VB some C# using .NET) Last project was running a shop
tracking railroad cars - like tracking UPS packages. Trying to herd
kittens is easier then pushing developers who consider themselves more
artist then technician.

After I could no longer do active development I was going to become a
MS certified trainer and set up a MS partner training center and run
bootcamps here in Colorado - set up a Yurt camp in the woods with
computers a central kitchen - students could bring their families to
ride horses, play in the woods during the week long training then we'd
send them off to get certified. I couldn't quite keep up enought to
get ready for all their tests and courses needed for the MCT

Sometimes I think I miss working or at least having that kind of focus
that development work gave me.

Have fun

Old Tom

Still - Is the Gathering Public or Private and does that distinction
give us any wedges to use against FS? I say Yes

I'm maintaining 35 servers and maybe 250 databases, backups, index
tuning, data archiving, query optimazion, some design work.
