Re: If you've been to the site please advise

I adore a long trail in.
It's going to be a favorite part of my gathering, dusty, smiling,
sights, sounds, traveling in different packs after rest stops. Path as
symbol. Good stuFF.

Just pace yourself and try to make it last. It's going to be great.

If you should over-do it, you couldn't find yourself in a city with
more healers per capita..

Can't answer your more specific questions, but I would forego the
woodstove and use the community fires. It will get less cute by the
mile, sister girl. The honey is worthy of totin'. Omigosh honey on
fresh bread in the woods!

Hi, I'd like any info from family who have been to the site. There
isn't much available, or it's hard to find.

Can you tell me the condition of the trail? I hear it is a steep climb
and 3-5 miles to main meadow. Is this accurate? I gotta tell you. I'm
not in the same condition I was at my last gathering 21 yrs ago when I
was barely still in my twenties and childless. I have been riding my
bike on uphill runs for the past few weeks, but the trail sounds
intimidating. I was planning to transport gear on wheels (I'll have
two teens with me). A friend gave me a bucket of Rainbow Honey (from
Northport, WA) which must weigh over 100#! I just got a little fold up
hand cart for it yesterday at a yard sale. The cart is sturdy enough, I
think, with decent wheels. I also have a few other wheeled carts that
I am thinking of bringing. I have a big duffel on wheels and and soft
cooler on wheels and even a garden cart that fits in my trunk. I'd
like to transport food and kitchen equipment. Is the trail passable
for wheeled carts?

Also, I have a little wood burning stove that I'd like to bring in. I
got it at a yard sale. It's the cutest little thing. A guy made it for
his fishing boat. Is it ok to collect and burn wood if it is
contained?

Thanks for any tips and advice. Also, I am coming from the north. I
have a topo map of the gathering area with directions to the site
printed out. I'd like to make copies and leave them for people who
need them. Any suggestions on where to leave them? I imagine I'll look
for confused looking rainbows and decide from there.

Peace,
Hilary Ohm
