used to be..... but they surely out number the "young ones"

who are able to take a moment (the length

of Rainbow Gatherings and not the cover story of High Times.

Been there, done that.... it is why all the people I have ever brought
to gatherings no longer attend.... they know that the "true purpose"
is and fail to see it in what now poses as a gathering.

Tired of teaching.... now it's time to sit back and enjoy my
retirement.

Here was
your opportunity to send ONE kid to the gathering with the knowledge
to not only have a fuller experience there, but the opportunity for
him to instruct others of his generation so that EVERYBODY could have
a wonderful time.

I am certain that he will have a wonderful time.... people will get
him high, people will get him drunk, hell he might even get to engage
in some violence.

These things are the norm at gatherings now..... why deny it ?? he
will be getting exactly what he wants out of it.

And besides, I was once part of a cult that had me believing that I
had to tell everyone I know about "Jesus".... that I was helping to
save them..... and that I HAD to teach people about salvation.

Guess what ?? they didn't like the fact that I never once brought
anyone to their church..... God is not in a building with a
denominations name on the door..... and peace is not exclusive to
"rainbow".

I find that kids coming to Rainbow expecting a drunken drug fest
usually don't have a good time. They wander around jonesing and never
getting involve in anything. Much like those festivals you keep
promoting here.

What festivals ?? Bonnaroo ?? Kerrville ?? have you ever been to
either ?? if not then you have no valid opinion to speak of these
festivals.

Both in my opinion are far better than what passes itself off as
"rainbow".... and a lot more peaceful.... at least at Bonnaroo and
Kerrville you won't hear stories of people being pulled from their
vehicles and beaten half to death by drunken assholes.

Just wandering around being a spectator. Here was your
golden opportunity to tell the kid how to "plug in" to a kitchen -

In Idaho (as you will personally remember) I helped a bunch of new
kids focalize a kitchen..... a kitchen which you ate at frequently....
and besides the kitchens I would recommend this kid probably wouldn't
want to be a part of..... no partying in those camps.

hell you could've recommended one - and explained the RAPs and
Hipstories.

But you know me..... I would have told him about the NRMT, the permit,
and how he is better off going to South Padre and doing his drinking
and drugging there.

That kid on the bus could've been Yuan Yin in disguise out to fool

He could have been the great nephew of Alexander the Great.... or the
"Last Zion" (Dogma) for all I know.

naw, Bill's not right You don't opt out of your responsibilities and
then bitch about it later. That's the coward's way out. These kids are
our future, and no one ever "retires" from being a teacher and a
mentor to our younger generation. Somebody once took the time to
explain Rainbow to Bill and Bill now has the responsibility to pass
that meme along to those who come after him.

For every drugged out kid you see on the trail this summer,
misinformed, uninspired, unmotivated, is now part of Bill's karma.
Because when it came time for Bill to do something Bill decided to do
nothing. You are judged not only on your actions, but on your
inactions as well.

Exactly. If I hadn't gone to a Rainbow Gathering and learned and UNLEARNED a
few things, I might still be working for the DOD.

Maybe that bro will make it to the Gathering and find there's more to life
than getting stoned in the woods, not that it's a bad thing. :-)

What is called a Rainbow Gathering today bears less then a 1%
resemblance to what my exposure in 1981 when I was a kid.

The Gathering at this point is neither Rainbow nor Gathering. It more
and more every year ends up as a drunken slug fest. Oh, and the other
idiots of the Mark Rey Fan club, you too can believe that that USFS is
our friend. Smokey fucking bear huh?

You know, the LEO's are right about one thing. And the LEO's way of
looking at it is it's an open drug fest and drunken woods dance.
That's why the little regionals is what I choose to go to. The ones
that are still word of mouth and not posted every where where an LEO
or LEO Lover can find them.

I've seen a lot of things in life. I can't defend peoples rights to
act like fools in the woods any longer.
