Just my 2 cents, but the more diversity of peoples that interact
with the USFS, the better off everyone is and the stronger we all get.
Each of the wonderful
bellies in this world has unique ideas, concerns, and thoughts
and it's important to share those with USFS and with each other.
I realize that talking today may change nothing in Wyoming or
wherever we land in 2009. But I have faith that by 2072,
the journey we are on now will still have Rainbows and a peace
trail. Talking to people today about concerns, issues, ideas
helps all of us better understand what we are doing and is creating
the future we all want.
If you haven't participated in one of the conference calls,
please plan on joining in on March 7. If you're at the
gathering in Wyoming, make sure to stop by INFO and
find out when the daily cooperations council happens and
show up and listed to what people are saying - both those
who work for the USFS and those who don't.
Peace comes from love, openness and communication.
Create peace. Find ways to communicate with those whose
opinions differ from yours.
Be the change you wish to see in this world.

I have always had a great amount of respect for you and the work you've
done but my opinion differs on this issue, Karin.
It's like dealing with a psychotic person, dealing with them.
You can put all of this work into facilitating good communication with
them but since accountability at the government level at this point is
almost nonexistent, what do we all gain, if they choose when and where
they suffer from their institutional amnesia or practice their neglect or
abuse? They have raised and used their weapons against my brothers and
sisters.
It is not a simple matter for me of just not trusting them. They are part
of a system of doing things that negates life and the life-affirming
things for which we gather. I will not negotiate for the simple exercise
of my rights. The practice of those rights is non negotiable.

Yes it does. Finding ways to communicate with those whose opinions are
different is one thing but the FS has a clearly defined agenda that is
none of those things you mentioned, beautiful as they are. They have raped
the forests. They have squandered the resources they were charged with
protecting. Now, if your purpose in this is to see an all-out take over of
the FS for the benefit of the forests themselves, I am with you!
But it's a bad ride, riding with Babylon. Better to build a new car, that
operates on greener principles, than to keep a fundamentally flawed car
operating.

I agree with building a new car as well, but in making a transition
we can hurt people or bring everyone along for the ride. Given
that I'm trying to walk a peace walk I have no interest in harming
others, even when those others have harmed me.
Doesn't mean I don't mess up, just that my understanding and intention
for change is it takes a while and I want to do it by peaceful means.

to go on ("The ride") to start with. Most I know don't like the
"pigmobile" .So are you going to "Save me from my self?"
