Actually, he doesn't. No PAC money, no special interest money. All the
money
he's raised so far, has been from small donations compiled from regular
people. He's grass-roots, at it's finest.

Sorry Blue, this simply isn't true. The bulk of Obama's money has come
from wealthy donors, same as every other candidate. Because they're
the one's with the money. As for his pledge to refuse PAC, lobbyist
and special interest money, he's a late comer to that game. Its always
been Edwards signiture issue, way back in 98 when he ran for senator
and refused all special interet money. Obama took lobbyist and PAC to
finance his senatorial campaign and it was only after pressure from
Edwards that he agreed not to take it in his presidential run. It
takes an enormous amount of money to run for president and it has to
come from somewhere. That's an unfortunate reality. He has his little
loopholes in his pledge. He will not take money from registered
lobbyist, but partners in lobbyist firms may have one who is
registered and another who either dropped a client or is not
specifically registered for anyone at the moment and the one who is
unregistered will funnel money to him from wealthy clients of the
firm. I'm not saying he's more disingenuous or "dirtier" that the
other candidates. But the idea that his campaign is financed by the
grassroots is spin.



If Kennedy and Kerry are backing Obama, the big dirty political money is
backing Obama.
