But I will add:

Jeff and co-hort unnecessarily manhandled the fellow, adding more violence to a situation
I had calmed down and had several bros willing to help me within reach.

Jeff was grabbing for glory, mugging for cameras ... after wannabe thugs
started the entire thing to begin with ...

Besides, had more folks been available, the thugs and the wannabe's
among the folks and bozos on the gate who started it would never opened
another's van to toss trash in or ORDER the driver to take
it into town.

I doubt they would have tried that with you ... grin.

In my opinion, either way the individuals were defending
themselves and the fellow who was hurt was an aggressor, not
an innocent ...

Jeff is another thing entirely and too often too full of himself.
He has been for years ...

Me? I just jumped in, tried to get some sisters, an infant,
and a little bro out of the back, the fellow in the front passenger
seat had already dove out before the van came around the corner
and I'm only sorry I couldn't get the driver out of the van and to
safety before the thugs showed up ... and more folks who knew
better weren't available and willing to jump in ...

sigh, yet another example of the apathy that abounds ...

Its bad enough that the paper, powders and personality feuds
have been around the site for years, drawing the additional
federal heat without the additional inter-tribal/camp bull***
being added to them ...

There was a time ...

But, like Dave said, this is why so many don't come anymore.
