What a wierd weather day/summer. This summer has been the hottest and
dryest in southwest Idaho, ever. Seems like pretty much ever day since
June has been in the high 90's or more. When it gets to 105, it feels
kinda warm. I'm used to it.
Also, it's the worst year ever for forest fires. Hehe, the Red Cross
even put up an evacuation shelter for Ketchum residents. That's Sun
Valley, and there are all these zillion dollar mansions scattered
around, and gosh, nobody's showing up at the shelters, and where did
all the private jets go? Duh.
But today... yesterday... Whaaaaat? Yesterday there was a violent dust
storm from the west, and then it got cooler, and then it rained, on
and off all night. This morning it was in the 50's, and the sun was
red, like from all the forest fires. (There have only been a few
really smoky days in Boise so far).
Late this AM, there was some serious rain, and when it stopped, it got
all smoky again.
I don't understand. Everybody's thinking that the rain will clean the
air. But instead the opposite seems to have happened. It's really,
really smoky outside now.
Forecast for tomorrow is back up into the 80's. IOW, warmer than
today, but cooler than it's been for months.
Still rains almost every day- at least a little anyway. Today was
nice- got to dry clothes on the line! Imagine that! It's going to be
really nice here this fall.... -w-
