When I was about ten I saw a boat come in w/ a snorkler who had swum
into one (or more). He was covered, an ambulance was waiting, he was
semi-conscious, I never heard of his death and assumed he pulled
thru. They are very efficient fishers. I beleive they also have
been shown to navigate (sail)(albeit awkwardly) w/ the ridge on their
back.

never try to pick the tenticles off with your fingers. when you do
that the tenticles break off in pieces and get stuck to your
fingers.
