[tap tap] Does this work?

Damn, it takes a long time to move into a new computer. It's almost as
involved as moving into a new house.

First you have to install your own components on top of what came from
the store and figure out why they don't work the first time, then you
have to change all the displays and individual coustomizations and other
stuff from the defaults on your OS, and try to remember how the hell you
did it the first time, then repeat the same wtih every one of your
software items as you load them one at a time. I got back on the web last
night, and I just got my Xnews working again.

The box is a generic case made in China that Advanced Computer Systems of
Muskogee, Oklahoma (which occupies one of eight strip mall spaces) filled
with a bunch of other things made somewhere on the west side of the
Pacific Rim. They are one of the few places left that will sell you a new
box with WIndows XP. I can take off the cover withou voiding any
warranties.

As Rummy said, it's gonna be a long slow slog, but I'm booting up in one
quarter of the time the other one did and I think I'm gonna like it.
