Those "honor" murders really fry my ass.
Yes; it is disgusting. Honor my ass. Any time guys start talking
about honor, I always say it's time for women to go check on the
cradle.
Honor? ***! What is it? Ain't ***. It's the original moving
target. It's all rationalisations put together. It's the never
ending expanding magic hat of excuses. It's the meta dumpster of
responsibility and excuse, cover up and pardon. <R>
There's such a thing as real honor, not the twisted, perverted thing used
as
an excuse by the strong for killing the weak (or vice-versa.)
IMO real honor is covert self-sacrifice in order to respect or protect
life,
rights, dignities and the environment.
One might say, doing what's right even when it's hard and you aren't
getting
any credit for it.
But if that's honor, you don't need a name for it since, as you say,
it isn't discussed.
I never said it isn't discussed. Of course it's discussed. All I said was
that the deed doer doesn't call attention to what they've done.
How easily that could be perverted, though: "In order to prevent
terrorists
from killing more innocent civilians, you must drop these 400 tons of
high
explosives on Baghdad." If the grunt doesn't know any better than what
he's
told by his CO, is he not acting honorably?
Oh come on. For one thing you do gallop with big shoes here! No.
Murder by any other name is not honorable.
*** you.
*** you and your twisting my words.
*** you and your pompous, pseudo-poetic style of writing which does nothing
but obfuscate and uglify.
You are so goddamn fucking ARROGANT you don't actually have opinions, you
simply assume you know everything and tell people what's up instead of
having a discussion and arriving at an agreement or disagreement or maybe
learning or teaching something. It's gotten to the point where reading your
posts makes me feel ill.
...WHEW.
Sorry, that's been building up for a while.
TTYL.
I couldn't disagree more with your interpretation. I've reread this
thread several times and see much discussion and disagreement back and
forth without any rancour until your post. I fail to see how Miranda
is any more arrogant in the presentation of her opinions than anyone
else. As for your comments over stylistic differences in writing, I
find Miranda's style to elucidate rather than obfuscate. Choice of
words with metaphoric, archetypal, and symbolic connotations convey a
depth of meaning that more clearly illuminates the complex subjects we
often discuss here. Where as I tend to be long winded in an attempt to
clarify the nuances and subtleties of my opinions Miranda is able to
convey that depth much more concisely by her "poetic" style. Miranda
is one of just a few people who I always make an effort to read so as
not to miss any of her posts and I always miss her writings when she's
gone for a while. Your insulting rant is totally uncalled for, imo.
