I don't know if processed sugar and grain flours in conjunction with
synthetic vitamins, flavors and colors is what's causing this, or if
it's
just because I ate SO MUCH of it.

It's a buzz. Speaking of which, I still haven't opened the six-pack of

It's incredible how much abuse the human body can take.

It's caused by the huge glycemic load You just ingested. Similar
quantities of other foods, with or with out the synthetics, would cause a
similar effect.

Much of the food in U.S. (the 'West in general') grocery stores has a
high
glycemic load. That could help explain why ADHD is so over-diagnosed.
Combine that with it being far easier to medicate kids than to change
their diet or interact with them and that might explain the
over-diagnosis. But that is not actual ADHD. The actual occurrence of
ADD
is much less common than the huge number of prescriptions for Ritalin and
similar medications would indicate. ADHD is a neurological condition.
Just cutting the glycemic load (amount of sugar in a meal) will not cure
it.

Oddly enough, most medications that are used to treat ADHD are
stimulants.
i have heard one doctor from South America claim that ADHD diagnosis is
rare there because even kids start the day with a cup of strong
coffee...

interesting, shava. ADD has three sources: genetic, congenital,
acquired. Acquired is from physical or emotional trauma. Huge
overlap with PTS. In utero, if your mother is surges of adrenalin
over time or even for one sustained intense event then you can catch a
case.

Stimulants such as dexedrine etc override the body's alarms and
perforce protections so the basic organism calms and heals where
constant alarm had been creating surges of adrenalin and a stripping
of the ammune system through "cry wolf" diminishing of returns.

ADDers burn on average 8% less sugar in the cerebral cortex than
nonADDers, which actually contradicts the main thesis of this
thread... MAYBE.

I just think the cereal you speak of is toxic and how to straighten
out causes and effects is indeed problematic especially when you think
it'll still be effecting you tomorrow even though you forget you ate
it today. Eat really good chocolate cake, if you want sugar.

I agree the cereal is toxic. However, chocolate cake isn't that great
either if it's made with refined sugar, refined flour and refined fats.
Still better than the cereal though.

Cane sugar beats the sugar in soda or other items like probably your
cereal, that corn slag. And, as a matter of joy, chocolate IS good
for folks it turns out! <R>
