MRX SEZ you made lots of good points. Man these LEO'S were out of

Rey sicced them on us or are these guys just bad cops who need to find
other work? Or was someone higher than Mark Rey that they answer to
telling them to use excessive force?

In my opinion the pressure originates from higher up in the government, possibly
from congressional delegations in response to lobbying from other political
groups or agencies in the government. There are billions of dollars at stake in
the commercialization of the national forests under various controversial permit
regulations, and rainbow gatherings present a serious potential legal obstacle.
(Of course, the real obstacle is the illegality of the permit regulation.)

Just out of curiousity were your comments those of an eye witness or
are you figuring this out from a distance?

I should have used the word "reported" because I was not an eyewitness, although
I witnessed similar harassment in past rainbow gatherings. My comments were
largely based on the July 7 message from Dubsiren and her radio show archived athttp://xml.wtprn.com/Kelton/0707/20070706_Fri_Kelton1.mp3. I recommend this
recording to anyone interested in the ongoing legal issues surrounding this
year's gathering.

It's hilarious- listening to it now. She did, however, say that
rainbow was a group of people, but then went on later to say it wasn't
a group <shrug>. Shoulda been there Marty... -w-
