we're all part and parcel of some kind of

Try talking with some of 'em before you cubbyhole them whydon'tcha?
Your definition sounds like a judgement George Dubya Bush would come

or do they?

I think they do. What goes around comes around is a pretty universal
concept. Only aristocrats operating on the ethic of power [if you can
get away with it it's moral] shortsightedly thinking their social
position provides immunity lack moral compass, and they are among the
most devout of church goers. I respect the open honesty of atheists
more.

When a evolutionist feels a twinge
of remorse, a pang of guilt after committing murder, theft or adultery
- where is that coming from? Could it possibly be ~gasp~ that they
possess a soul?? Say it isn't so! I suppose that all the debates in
the world won't convince someone who is holding to the notion they
were create by a random act of the Universe that they were actually
created in the image of the Creator and were indeed given a soul and
that soul wants only one thing and that is to do good. But what is to
be done when the soul is disconnected from its source, its lifeline
and its consciousness? The soul essentially is choked off and evil
prevails. This is an animalistic instinct - and I don't care how many
plastic bottles you've recycled or that you're a PETA card carrying
vegan - bottom line - if you deny your connection to the Source of
Life, you're a living corpse. A beautiful shell carrying around a soul
with a hole. The Laws aka the Commandments are Lifelines that connect
the soul to its Godly essence and bring it Light. Enliven it. Give it
breath and infuse it with all the riches the Universe can offer - from
love to knowledge to wisdom to beauty to co-Creatorship of the world
to the world to come.

As for what is told to mankind to uphold in relation to the
impovershed, destitute and hungry - these are the Laws:

Leaving the corners of the field unharvested, providing for the hungry
in the community. (Leviticus 19:9-10)
Dealing honestly in personal and business matters and paying employees
in a timely manner. (Leviticus 19:11, 13, 35, 36)
Respecting physical differences, including not taking advantage of one
who is blind or deaf. (Leviticus 19:14)
Making fair decisions that neither show undue deference to the rich
nor favoritism of the poor. (Leviticus 19:15)
Interacting with people in respectful, tolerant, accepting ways.
(Leviticus 19:16-18)
Loving your neighbor as yourself. (Leviticus 19:18)
Showing respect to elders. (Leviticus 19:32)
Treating the people around you, whether friend or stranger, with
respect, loving each one as yourself. (Leviticus 19:34)

I'd rather call those 'rules of conduct,' mores, folkways and values
families ought to teach their children, etc. than Laws. Choice. I
can't read Leviticus aloud without slipping into a Peter Lorie
impersonation and I don't think I'm descended from the Patriarch of Ur
[Abraham].

And this is the beginning of creating heaven on earth. But maybe its
simply just not on the agenda for an atheist. Maybe just maybe they
have another plan brewing that they're simply not even aware of.
They're just puppets being manipulated by whim and ignorance.

And [by extension] you're moved by God? Standing on the shoulders of
hampsters does not add to one's stature. Bibles make lousey
