I can't imagine that the fasting would mix well with high blood
pressure or a necessary drug regimen. Moving furniture ?...I don't
suppose that was a fun thing for him to have had to do. I beleive the
'agro factor' to be more detrimental than the exercise. (not
judging) Strokes sometimes just happen, no one lives an insulated
life. Co-Q10 seems to be an important suppliment although
expensive.

Heart Help ? Pears are also said to be good for the heart. A healthy
well fuctioning digestive tract allways helps. IMO

...Researchers recruited more than 2,680 patients with advanced CHF
Subjects were randomly chosen to receive either 900 mg of crataegus
extract or a placebo for two years...
wow, this post brought back a flood of recent memories. very touchy subject.
my brother was diagnosed with CHF 3 years ago. he began to research,
collected a ton of books and found the hospital meds kill you anyway. the
way he explained it to me, the meds that keep your heart pumping also damage
muscle tissue, so it's only a matter of time for the heart. two years for
such a study is going to the limit -- 50% die within 2.5 years of diagnosis
and the percentage that make it to 5 years is statistically insignificant.
my brother used crataegus, ginko biloba, and several other herbs (other than
for blood pressure, some diuretics and tummy relievants -- you are very
correct about the well functioning digestive tract). he also used lots of
vitamins - particularly C and carnitine - but the thing that helped the most
was Co-Q10 (co-enzyme Q10). he swore by the stuff.
another element that must not be overlooked is man's achille's heel:
himself. hardest obstacle to overcome. my brother got too well and even did
some light jogging. but he overestimated the stamina that the co-q10 gave
him. was moving his furniture around when he suffered a fatal stroke. we
buried him early last year. still can't get over it.
am still reading through his library to determine what if anything he got
wrong. for one thing, he did do some heavy-duty fasting every now and then,
which according to one source was definitely to be avoided.
