To which I responded:
"OK, listen dude, if you have a different perspective from mine on this
issue, that's cool, but if you're so convinced of the righteousness of
your opinion that you'd refuse to further discuss it with someone who
disagrees with it, then let's end it now. I would not have expected
such a load of pure horseshit coming from you."

It occurs to me, after a few hours sleep, that I may have overreacted
just a tad there. I really don't know why our difference of opinion
would cause you to question the viability of continuing the discussion.
Perhaps you did not mean to imply that your opinion is so unassailable
as to preclude your consideration of an opposing one. If that is the
case, then I offer my apology for reacting the way I did.

I appreciate that tremendously, because I was really quite surprised to see
your reaction. And no, I wasn't implying that. I consider myself a fairly
reasonable dude and didn't intend to suggest I wanted to end our discussion.
It just seemed so god-awful incongruous to me that the backstabbing you saw
was completely opposite to the backstabbing I saw, that I thought there was
an irreconcilable difference of opinion and that most likely, any further
discussion due to the diametrically opposed viewpoints would be quite
useless.

I'm quite well aware of the fact that different people will come to
completely different conclusions regarding the same events witnessed, and
that both can also be completely justifiable and rational. All this points
out to me is that there is every possibility, despite whatever anyone thinks
about the present soap opera (I'm not up to speed on today's developments
yet, and I'm sure I've missed an episode or two, so if I seem to be a little
out-of -kilter here, that's why), it is also entirely possible that both
people are entirely correct about the way they saw things and therefore it
is indeed an opportunity for reconciliation and the finding of common
ground. I don't think it very likely in the case of either of the two
principals involved, that either would be willing to accept somebody else's
conclusions about how best to handle the whole mess. it seems it's "my way
or the highway" all around, and I couldn't blame either dude for not wanting
to ride someone else's horse anyway. Even the onlookers have made some
unreasonable demands, imho.

Agreed on all points. Otoh, the players can't start a soap opera on a
public forum and expect the theatre goers not to participate.

I will return to your preceding post at a later time.

If you feel like it. Like you said, though, no one that matters is
really listening anyway, so it's probably not contributing anything
toward resolution.
