In the US armed services, a patently illegal order is one
which orders someone to commit a crime. This helps to
explain Command Indoctrination (CI), in which US military

When the Army prosecuted Daniel Ellsberg for leaking the Pentagon
Papers to the Washington Post it served to validate their veracity for
me, for they could not, as I was programmed to believe, be communist
propaganda and at the same time be grounds for Ellsberg's prosecution.

It will not surprize me to learn the penalty for leaking classified
documents has escalated to loss of family just like the drug lords of
Colombia did it. So long as offices sanctify the holders of them the
