I've helped stockpile a ton (yes a ton) of food from basically Mormon
food storage donations and us buying bulk. it's our #10 can way to
heaven out here in utah... people keep food storage for emergencies,
but the food storage expires before they ever use it, so they kick it
down. we get it along with kickdown food we qualify for at the food
bank. Most other families can't use it but we'll use it! oui oui we
also score some from freecycle.
Bob's got the garden in starts in the greenhouse and he just got a
chipper/shredder to mulch our compost for planting it. More will then
go in the greenhouse, so bob's kitchen will have lots of food by July.
I'll be a weekend warrior of sorts, so will be able to make fresh food
runs from our garden.
We are blanket fans, so have our rainbow blankets sealed in space bags
from last year. Makes them more compact for traveling too. after you
hike them in, unzip them for a preserved funk of last year's gathering.
The funk never leaves the blankets even after washing, which is nice.
We collect broken chairs, too, and fix them over the winter. Yesterday
we set them up at the neighbor's porch to air out and test.
