Oh, this is a storebought pee-cee with exx-pee. You really think it
would have tar on it? Hell, this is one of the first boxes I've used
that doesn't already have winzip. And I hear that winzip doesn't handle
tar archives well... or something. Seem to remember the last time I
tried to untar this archive with winzip, it complained... I was only
after one file, and it worked, but I don't know about the rest of the
archive.
Mainly, I was worried that winzip's "45 day free trial" was really
enforced like lots of programs do. I don't like to put shit on a
computer that goes belly up after the trial expires, and leaves ghosts
lingering.
