I have had a little experience with this lately. I don't understand how
it all works but I can tell you about my experiences. Yesterday my
yahoo stuff disappeared - but it wasn't just me. Their end was not
functioning right and when they got it fixed, all my stuff was still
there. So that is one thing. The other thing that happened to me was
that I got out of bed one morning recently, turned on the computer and
WHAM - no Wildflower Stew - "page cannot be displayed" - gone - zapped.
Of course, I panicked and sent out the SOS - but what I did that worked
was to republish my site. Luckily that worked. But it taught me a
lesson - back up everything.
So my website is backed up on another server and on a CD. I would
assume you can back up anything that way. You'll have to ask Razz or
someone knowledgable about that stuff exactly how to back up MSN group
material - but I'm sure it's possible. We can't always protect
ourselves from hackers but we can have backups. I don't think what
happened with the MSN group was necessarily an inside deal. Hackers get
through security barriers - that is what hacking is as far as I know.
Now I am going to take my own advice and back up some of the stuff I
have on yahoo - that I freaked out about possibly losing yesterday.
Hope this helps a little . . . . . peace . . . . . swan . . . .
