well new orleans is under martial law right now, it's a big fucking
mess, they're not letting anyone in to the city right now. anyone
wanting to help out with feeding refugees and such ought to think about
baton rouge, or any city near these hard-hit regions where a lot of
evacuees are staying. i live in baton rouge, we were pretty lucky,
considering the shift to the east that the storm took. i was only
without power for 13 hours but theres still a couple of thousand people
here without power. we didn't really get much rain, and only maybe
50-55mph gusts. theres sure a hell of a lot of people from new orleans
here right now though, and it looks like they may be taking up
residence here for a few months. fema's talking about hooking people
up with rent money and ***.
