I'm sure you can, but I'll bet the vast majority of "wolves" that
people have as pets are dogs. Some say that a dog is a domesticated
wolf, and a wolf is a wild dog. The DNA says that there is more
difference between various breeds of dogs than between wolves and dogs.

When somebody shows me a dog and trys to tell me it's a wolf, I get the
feeling that they're trying to make the Big Impression, that they're
special people, that they're doggy isn't really a doggy but something
more noble, badass, free, whatever. The impression I do get from these
people is something entirely different.

No offense, I just happen to love dogs like crazy and think it's
basically romantic snobbery that people can't be satisfied with their
dog being "just a common dog". Wolves have this huge romantic imagery
surrounding them, and "wolf people" apparently want to latch onto that
romance, while seeming to ignore or belittle the nobility of the
"common" dog.
