Recipe completism


Haven't really played WoW much other than the AH recently, but had
some fun tonight! Noticed my druid was getting fairly near to having
all alchemy recipes, so got working and learned 10 or so more over a
few hours: farmed some drops in Outland (had to laugh, major shadow
protection potion took loads of time, including 3 trips to town to
empty my bags out, then major arcane protection dropped on the first
kill :-P), farmed some rep in various Outland instances to get high
enough for the faction based ones, farmed up mana thistles to craft
elemental protection potions so I could discover the cauldrons, and
had a couple of discoveries while crafting Cataclysm flasks as well!

Only 13 to go now, and most are fairly achievable, I'm suspecting I'll
get stuck with 3 left though:

*Thorium Brotherhood friendly - yeah, that's easy now, a few Searing
Gorge quests and done :-)
*Two from Northrend mob farming
*Four from Shattered Sun rep; unfortunately this was my last lvl 70
character in TBC and so didn't do that rep; guess I'll be farming
Magisters Terrace then
*Two from discoveries; that's just a matter of time
*Two from guild achievements - well, I'm over 700 flasks made so far
(most of those in the past few weeks), so should get the one for 1k
flasks. The 3k flasks, um... well, guess I'll hope Cata herb prices
come WAY down in MoP: Northrend and Outland herbs didn't, but Cata
ones *might* due to there being only one glyph in the game made using
ink from them, I'm suspecting glyphs are why older herbs still cost so
much!

Vial of the Sands. Nuff said, bleh. Plus side; I'm hearing you can
trade in Pandaria artifacts for older fragments in MoP, so that'll at
least be less painful than praying for the right digsites to actually
appear but, yeah. Not got much hopes there.

So yeah, three will be really hard, rest are doable, and being so
close will encourage me to work harder on the last 3! I've never yet
got all available recipes for any main profession, jewelcrafting used
to be my best, only missing two TBC 5-man drops and a bunch from
Sunwell... well, *was* only missing those; right now I have about 6
months worth of dailies to do, sigh. Going to try and stockpile the
relevant gems before MoP hits, since I'll be heading back to Org every
day for my old JC daily for some time I think; I doubt it'll be over 6
months till it's released!
