I simply think of WoW as my hobby....That's all. If your not doing
something your supposed to do because your "doing WoW" (like go to
work, mow your lawn, family, oh...you know...like life?) THEN it's a
problem. I have a couple hobbies...this is just one of them :)
WoW took up too much of my time a couple years ago, but now I rarely go
on before midnight, and play for an hour or so when I want my mind to
just shut down and get ready for sleep.
WoW has become so automatic that I can't really say it is all that much
fun anymore, but I don't really want to give up a brain-dead hour or so
at this point...
In fact, I bought a couple other games last month (Civ 5 and the latest
Star Wars), but never got past the tutorial in either of them. I
realized I really don't want to go through the learning curve and
addiction phase again at this point.
So, though I have said I was ready to leave WoW a few times in the last
couple years, it just keeps hanging on there in the background. No
mental time really -- not even much while playing it... :)
