I want to be a balanced raid/tank healer
In my opinion, the main difference is that Disc is a more "active" spec.
If you play Disc you have to manage more cooldowns, press more buttons
and generally remember more stuff.
For example, as Disc you have to:
+ Keep track of the cooldown on Penance.
+ Remember to cast Power Word: Shield on the tank every twelve seconds
for maximum mana return from Rapture, but you don't generally want to cast
it more often than that because it's fairly expensive.
+ If you specced into Smite healing (which you probably should), you have
to keep track of the Evangelism buff and make sure you Smite often enough
so it doesn't fade, and decide when to activate Archangel (which consumes
Evangelism.)
+ Also for Smite healing you need a convenient way of selecting a target
for your Smites and you must be facing the target and you must be fairly
close to the target.
All in all it just seems like Holy is simpler to play, which I appreciate
more as I get older.
