Equipped is obvious - the average of what you are wearing.
Average is the average of highest level per-slot that you have
(including bags). So for example if you have 300 chest equipped and
318 and 333 chests in bag, it will take 333 for chest item. Not sure
if it counts unusable or wrong armor class items.
If that were correct, the equipped value would always be *lower* or equal to the average. In my case it is *higher*. :)
I logged out in my DPS gear and my equipped item level was 304 and my average was 317.
I logged out in my Healing gear and my equipped item level was 327 with my average still being 317.
If the average was the best that I had on me and in my bags then it couldn't ever be lower than what I had on.
