She might be infected with something. Clean aggressively for malware.

"Man in the middle" malware often causes symptoms like what you mentioned.

If the issues coincide with a patch it's far more likely connected to
the patch. I'm having troubles myself, no disconnects but repeated
minifreezes, only for a fraction of a second, it's like the game kinda
stutters, usually on entering combat, leaving combat or looting,, or
else while travelling (presumably when it needs to pull a new bit of
zone into the memory), horrendous fps drops in the new SFK as well.
All started on the day of the latest patch, doesn't take a genius to
figure it's not malware ;-) Whether it's my pc can't handle the patch,
or a buggy addon, I'm yet to determine, but malware is not on my list
of likely causes, anyway, the timing is too obvious for that. Updated
my graphics card driver and disabled a couple of possibly relevant
addons tonight, we'll see if that fixes it.
