Ever since one of the recent major patches my wife's PC has had more
freezes and boots from WoW than ever before even if all the boots and
freezes from before were totalled up. And her PC is the best one in
the house. Mine which use to boot me from WoW constantly in Dal and a
few other places and is much more low end than hers now never causes
me any problems.
Her PC is the Gateway Ultimate Gaming Laptop and for the life of me I
can't see why the best PC would have the problem. Upon game kick out
or freeze the message box for a send to Blizz only says the WoW.exe
program had some kind of exception error.
She is wondering if bringing it in for servicing will help but I can't
picture that doing anything. All they regoing to do is scan it, check
the hard drive and maybe repartition something.
Sometimes the solution scan that Windows tells us that the problem is
that Norton 360 needs to be updated. Well our Norton does not run out
for another month and I would prefer to wait till then because in the
past when I updated the Norton subscription and got an upgraded
install on it, it began the new subscription from that point and I
lost a month or more of subscription time. Figures. So now I wait till
the end of the subscription because of that.
So anyone hear of these types of problems?
Thanks ahead of time.

Could be a simple as a video driver. Your older PC may not be on as high of graphics settings and may not be trying to do as much as hers. Blizz has been popping so many updates with things now, you never know. I was thinking about checking for the latest video and sound drivers myself when I got home tonight...Also if you both have different operating systems (XP on yours, Win 7 on hers for example) make sure her PC OS is updated too..
I'm not saying that is your problem, just something simple stuff to check out.
BTW - Norton is possibly the biggest resource hog and overbloated POS program running on her PC. I personally think it should be registered as a virus itself. There are plenty of equal/superior anti-virus software that do not bog down a system, many of them free. My PC came a little over a month ago and the first thing I did after starting it was blow out the McAfee that came with it, event hough it was free for a year, and installed my trusty free "Avast!"....just something else you might look into. Video drivers and anti-virus programs frequently are the cause of many gaming problems...
