Another silly question: What's going to happen in general to ground
mounts after cata? Only going to use until you can fly, and then no
more now that you will be able to fly everywhere? Where will it
still be beneficial or required to use ground mounts?

An epic ground mount is faster than a non-epic flier. If there isn't much
in the way of obstacles, its actually faster to ride on the ground.

When I was working through Nagrand, I used my flier a lot of the time as
a jetpack - I'd ride my charger to near the location of a quest, and then
use the flier to drop into a hostile compound, and to make my escape.

So, until you get an epic flier, ground mounts still have a use in the
general world.
