Not so much ingame but deciding what characters I'm making to explore
the new Azeroth, and what to name them! Think I've finally got there,
wanted to try some of the new class/race combinations, and had to make
lots to cover every starting area anyway. Add in the fact I have a
distinct naming system for my characters (all use Gaelic names, chosen
to have meanings that suit the character's race/class/role in some
way), plus a rather major lack of space on my main server (already had
2 alts spilled over onto another so I now have a pretty big colony of
them there!), but I've finally figured out my new lineup and reserved
most the names ;-)
My only planned Cat char is a troll druid. Well delete my old banker
and remake. (Has the side effect of grouping by 80s all together.) Be
feral/resto. I don?t mind the feral troll druid looks!! Well there?s
one darker version which I going to be stuck with.
Heh I'm kinda hoping my troll druid has absolutely insane feral looks,
just so I can shift into them for a laugh now and again, won't ever
use them for fighting so won't have to put up with them all the time,
and they'll be fun for a change :-)
Sure I?ll do the goblin/worgen starting areas but I?m not sure about
the long haul to 85. Especially on the Allied side. I?ve zero allied
chars of note. And the one I had, my first ever char a gnome mage, got
faction changed the day it game out.
The only class I?m missing is warrior, shaman and druid. My old
banker, being deleted to make space, is a warrior.
I've got every class to 50+ now, and really looking forward to seeing
both sides; the good thing about that is new questlines, new stories
etc, love it.
Cutach (small) - gnome priest. Gotta be done, cute little female gnome
healer - always wanted one of these! Love how the name means "small"
but is rather similar to "cute" too :-)
I wanted my first ever char to be a Gnome Priest. Of course the option
wasn?t available. So, I made a mage since I was a gnome lock in the
MMO I was playing before hand (EQ2).
I really disliked how all the robes looked on my gnome mage.
Everything was always so squashed and lacking in details. I recall
looking at the Night Elf and human mages and thinking, ?Hmmm I should
of rolled one on those.?
Ahh, good point, but hey, I already have undead, draenei and dwarf
priests if I want to look at the robes, the gnome's just for the cute
factor ;-)
Seunta (blessed) - Tauren Paladin - may go retri, not sure yet;
absolutely detested that spec back in vanilla, it was utterly
unplayable, but apparently things have improved ;-)
Certainly at 80 ret awesome. You're not an auto attack monkey due to
few talents and no mana to let of the few talents you have. Leveling
can still be like that but hopefully it's fixed in Cat.
Cool, should be interesting then. Was just awful in vanilla, I
remember quite literally taking over 5 minutes to kill a Kurzen
Medicine Man because I didn't have the burst to kill him before he
healed up (and stun didn't last long enough) I know it was over 5 mins
because I had to refresh my blessing (this was the days of 5 minute
blessings!) And it always seemed to be: set seal, auto attack, heal
myself at the end, and... never had the mana for more! Horrendously
boring, and once somebody here mentioned that hedgehog Prot build, i
tried that (mid=40s at the time) and never looked back! Not reached 80
on a pally yet but I've never been anything other than prot since
then, and I'm on my 2nd one now (first was a dwarf, reached 61, now
got a 73 belf) But I do hear a lot of good things about Retri now so I
may well give it another chance - levelling as Holy doesn't sound too
appealing somehow and two protadins is probably enough ;-)
Eislein (misery) - Undead Priest (shadow) - suppose it's about time I
try shadow, but I refuse to corrupt any of my existing holy priests
with the dark side - it'd just feel wrong! And since I need an undead
anyway, there we go :-P
WOOHOO!!!! About time too!!! I?m staying shadow! >.<
Hehe can't guarantee I'll *like* it :-P Tried it in early TBC on my
undead priest, lasted about half a lvl before I went back to holy,
since shadow was worse - worse damage, and much much worse mana
management, having to shift out and heal myself after each pull, and
then sit and drink, wasn't fun. But my bf has a shadowpriest now which
looks pretty fun - granted he only really plays it duoing with me, but
it certainly looks more interesting than I'd expected, critting dots
and mindflay etc have potential :-)
Unnamed - Troll Druid (balance) - I know the name I want but need to
clear a banker out before I can reserve it (out of slots). Been
wanting to try balance for a bit; I only hope troll moonkins are a
little less rainbowlike than their bears and cats :-P
I played one on PTR ages ago and it just seemed vastly inferior to a
mage. MF spamming! They?ve got a proper rotation now, so might be
better. But I?ve lots of spell casters so probably give it a miss.
I know absolutely nothing about moonkins tbh! But the Eclipse mechanic
sure sounds interesting, will try and learn about that before I try
it, but it's something pretty different to any other class I think.
Worth a try anyway, and about time I tried some new specs! :-)
