Funny after a few years of playing, the name suddenly needed to be
changed.
It needed to be changed because it was in violation of the naming rules
and someone disliked it enough that they bothered to report it.
I'm curious though, what rule exactly does it violate?
I can't think of any, assuming it's not an RP server (if it is
then ban from RP servers would be a more fitting punishment, I
hate it when people don't even try to fit in on those - there's
plenty non-RP servers if you don't want to RP...), it's not
even *that* offensive, although not really in great taste
either.
They must have felt it fell under A.(ii).
(ii) That incorporates vulgar language or which are otherwise
offensive, defamatory, obscene, hateful, or racially,
ethnically or otherwise objectionable;
It's a close call, so I'm not surprised the OP was allowed to use
the name for such a long time. I don't find cow patties offensive
in general conversation, personally.
I thought it was a cute female Tauren name.
To be frank.... it really wasn't. I don't understand how
anybody would think that naming a character after cow shit was
cute.
Agreed there.
I think it's a fairly witty choice for a Tauren name, but it
doesn't fit the convention of no spaces allowed, and then when
you have to mispell Patty to get it through, it further weakens
the concept.
It's sour grapes idea is to report Cowpatty immediately. ;)
