As a new player, I had talent-block until I started simply
following guides. This should be a big improvement for new
players.

The trees as they are work fine, it's true, but new players
really need guidance of *some* kind. Once you get the general
idea that the best talents have to be "unburied" by digging deep
and taking a bunch of minor boosts, it gets easier to understand.
The new system will enforce this mentality on new players.

It's too bad that you have to take some chaff, but it seems like
that ought to be an easy thing to fix.
