That's not really my point tho.
When I signed up, I was *explicitly promised* my personal info would
never be shared.
They seem to have done a complete 180 degree shift in policy
regarding that.

No, I think that's a very unfair judgement.

That line I left in above is what 'scares' me.
It seems to say that they think they can sell my info as a line of business.

I read this differently. Let's assume that in a few years time WoW's number
decline so far that they decide they can't run it profitably on a
subscription model any longer and decide to sell WoW to a different company
who wants to run it on a different business model. So the would be selling
the "business line WoW". In order for that new company to let you keep
playing, they would need to share your account information with that
company.

That's how I understand the above line.

Could be wrong of course, as I am neither a lawyer nor a native english
speaker.
