delete chat-cache.txt should do the trick if I'm remembering rightly.
Don't think I've ever done the simple chat thing.
Can you do that while you're still in the game/on the toon? I'm
finding I *really* dislike the new chat stuff ;-/
Doubt it'll work then but a quick relog would sort it. Only seen the
new chat on the PTR so far and seems alright, I'm assuming the various
chat mods will fast let you hide that stupid typing box that's
permanently visible, and that was my only real annoyance, thankfully.
