Why not? It's only 2 pieces and the content that you'll be going through won't need tier 10 gear anyway. If the aim of the game was to get to 85 first I'm fairly sure that +20% XP bonus would trump whatever stats you had on the two T10 pieces.

Two? There are at least 5 heirloom slots (trinket x2, weapon, shoulders,
chest).

Only two give a +exp bonus though (3 if you're lucky enough to get the
ring) and the others won't be better than lvl 80 raid epics.

Ring?

Ahh. I tried to do the fishing tourney in STV once. I had max fishing, a
big iron pole, a +100 lure. I got 2 of the fish by the time someone won.

I have no idea how they did it, I barely had enough CASTS to have gotten
the fish in the time it took, much less to ride back to Booty Bay with
them.

I've never even look at it since then.

You need a water walking potion or something similar so you can dash from one pool to the next. And you set your hearth in Booty Bay. You also don't worry about other peoples' feelings -- those pools are there for everyone, no matter how much some fishermen think they deserve their own private school of fish.

Anything that speeds up movement, too.
