And also, like I said, it'll spread out the people using the LFG moreProblem there is when you have lvl 80s queueing for Utgarde keep
and you should end up getting into a group a bit quicker as a dps. I
only said that you would have to run an instance once on regular, not
have to pull it as a random, so you run a specific dungeon once on reg,

normal... Fine if it's tank but do you REALLY want a poor lvl 70
trying to hold aggro off a lvl 80 dpser? Not everyone bothers
instancing while they level, most my alts skip the instances unless
there's something I particularly want, and since they were decked out
in TBC epics, UK/Nexus and the Azjol-Nerub places have nothing for me
anyway so I rarely bother.
Don't see it as a big deal, BUT...I understand what you are saying, so aBetter, but still a nuisance for 2nd accounts, and still doesn't solve
compromise for you could be if they instituted something like they have
for the cold weather flying, in which if you have a level 80 toon on
that realm, whatever dungeon that toon has run on heroics, the heroics
for any alts would be be unlocked as well...Sound a little better / more
fair?
the problem of lvl 80s needing to run a lvl 70 place before they can
do the heroic version.
optional one gripe on here regarding the optional bosses vs. bare bones
frost / minimum run...
Maybe they can add a simple checkbox when you open the LFG tool when you
select Random Heroic Dungeons that says "mandatory bosses only", (but by
default is on full run) that you can click a check mark in. This will
enter you in a random group that matches you up with 4 other players who
also checked the box. When you enter the instance, those optional
bosses are simply just not in their area, and the area just has the mobs
in it so it is not even an issue. Boom - no more arguments. If a
person doesn't want to do them and they are in a full run, then they
have no one but themselves to blame for not checking the box...What
blizzard would also need to do is limit the amount of mandatory boss
runs available at one time so that the wait time for either que is close
to the same, or otherwise people wanting to run a full may never get a
healer / tank or have impossibly long wait times...
What do you think?
I worry that its overly specific. Where does it end? Do we add
checkboxes for 'want LessRabi achievement', etc?
As this problem is not making heads turn at blizzard in forms of complaints, nothing will be done about it. I was just trying to think of some ideas and float them out there. If this was i bigger problem or complaint, I'm sure they'd be cooking up something to address it.
In the old days, you could put a note on your entry in LFG, I'd
usually put 'Looking for quick badge run'. Others trying to put
together a group could check that. Also, since you had travel to the
dungeon, there was time before entering to negotiate this stuff, check
each other's gear, negotiate loot rules, etc. Since it wasn't x-realm,
you got to know the other frequent puggers on your server (and it was
a good tool for finding potential guild members). By the time you got
started, the group was usually fairly harmonious.
Well I guess they figure if you want to have all the above, that's what raid groups are for.
Watch - that'll be a future tool...the LFR tool that will assemble a raid group in a similar way to the dungeon tool... I hope not...
.
The problem with the random LFD tools is that it dumps a self
proclaimed tank, healer, and 3 dps straight into a random dungeon.
This has the good point that its quick, and prevents people from being
overly picky about who they run with. OTOH, some may hate a given
instance, or have particular ideas about how to run it. All the
negotiation gets packed into a few seconds at the start, or is done on
the run. Effectively, Blizzard has reduced delay in getting into an
instance for a lot of drama and desertions in the first couple
minutes.
