I could get a Felguard pet, I think the next pet is called, if the quest
to get it is relaively quick and easy, and if that pet is a better
bodyguard when exploring high-level zones.
You're thinking of the Felhunter, the quadruped pet that looks kinda like a
zergling from Starcraft. The felhunter is not particularly good as a
bodyguard, it's damage is fairly low(even if you're specced deep affliction,
which boosts the felhunter's dps a fair bit), and it has no taunt.
Voidwalker will make a much more useful bodyguard for you than a Felhunter
will due to it's taunt and it's bubble.
The Felguard is a MUCH different pet, the large, bipedal, muscular axe
wielding pet that's only available to demonolgy warlocks, requiring no quest
to get, but instead requiring 41 talent points in the demo tree to reach(so
you can't get him till 50). He IS a better bodyguard than any other pet you
get. He has a taunt, hits fairly hard, has a charge stun, a cleave that can
hit multiple targets, and fairly high armor/life. Additionally, assuming you
spent 5 points in Master Demonologist(which, if you're demo, you really,
really should have) you and him both get a 5% damage boost and a 5% incoming
damage reduction(in addition to the 20% damage reduction you already get
from Soul Link), further enhancing your survivability.
