You're unusual then - I've levelled my alt priest in instances only up
to 38 now, most groups have contained a mage, yet I was shocked just a
few days ago when a trade window opened containing a stack of conjured
water - that is the first and only mage which has done that. In 23
levels. Very much appreciated by me, but it's extremely unusual; at
low lvl instances I tend to be the only person buffing most of the
time (using over 50% of my mana to do so whilst everyone is is running
off pulling tons of mobs, leaving me wondering what I'm meant to heal
them with since I just used my mana casting buffs). At least at 80
there's usually a table from the mage... but not always.
Wow (if you'll forgive the pun ;-) ) - buffing is common on my server
even at low levels. Sometimes newbies have to be reminded, but it's not
that bad.
Well maybe priests in my battlegroup buff (I am one so I don't see
what others do) but mages druids and paladins don't in the low lvl
instances I've done so far. Paladins will sometimes give me a buff
(often might) but it's about 50-50, the others... nah, forget it, I've
given up even asking. Still remember the time it took me about 5
minutes to get somebody to decurse a 15% cast speed debuff in RFD when
we had both a druid and mage in the group, sigh.
As for offering water - I often do. But I don't take kindly to demands
or other impoliteness.
I don't tend to like bugging mages for water so just supply my own
anyway, but it's very very nice to receive an offer of some (which
I'll gratefully accept) - never happens though. I don't like demands
either, always makes me cringe when i see somebody just saying
"water", "mage water" and the like.
My Holy Pally makes a point of always having 15-20 Honeymint Tea when
starting an instance or raid. That's almost always enough. Also, 200
Symbols of King (used for the 30 minute pally buffs). A long raid can
easily use over 100.
Since he maxxed out cooking, he also tries to have a stack of Fish
Feasts. The mats cost about 5g/feast, about half what the feasts go
for in the AH.
Money isn't really an issue at 80, so why not? Being generous with FFs
gets a lot of gratitude.
