It means differently for different classes. For an affliction
warlock,
haste
is priority to everything but spellpower.

Would you care to elaborate? Having an affliction warlock, I'd be
extremele
interested to find out why I should reconsider my stat priorities :-)

For affliction, your goal is to get your dots up as soon as possible,
haste
helps with that by reducing the global cooldown(on all dots) and the
cast
time of Haunt and UA. It also means you can cast more Shadowbolts
between
keeping dots up, thus increasing your damage output.

Ah, that makes sense, thanks.

NP. To add to that, in 3.3 there's a the Glyph of Fast Decay that lets haste
also reduce the duration of Corruption and time between it's ticks(so you
get the same number of ticks just over a shorter period of time), which,
based on PTR testing, can be a nice DPS boost(I forget which standard Aff
glyph they replace though, don't recall if it's lifetap or CoA)

What stat were you prioritizing for over Haste anyway

So far it was

1. Prio: Hit + SP
2. Prio: Crit, Sta, Haste in any order

Well I admit I wasn't counting Hit, cause reaching hit cap is something ALL
damage dealing characters(tanks included) are meant to reach, so I was just
assuming that one just went without saying. After that though, SP, haste,
then crit is the priority. Stam is good, but you're a lock, in a
raid/instance setup you're not meant to be taking damage generally speaking
except through lifetap, which fel armor and siphon life should be able to
cover.

I've heard that if you don't raid hit is not needed. So if all you do
is quest for gold and run H instances then your fine with a minimal
ammount.
