I'm liking the sound of this a lot, yep - seems like there's enough
controls on it that the cross-server lfg won't be a total nightmare of
ninjas etc.
o Players can join as individuals, as a full group, or a
partial group to look for additional party members.
I like that you can even join as a full group and still get the
rewards for doing a random dungeon; I was wondering if you'd have to
do a total pug to get that, good that you can form partial/full groups
first.
+ Continuing to complete Wrath of the Lich King Heroic
instances using the Daily Random Dungeon option will award players two
additional Emblems of Triumph each time.
I forsee this being a very very fast way to gear up on Triumph emblems
then! Considering they'll be dropping from bosses also, great.
* Instead of choosing a random dungeon, players can also choose
specific dungeons appropriate for their level range. Multiple
instances can be selected at one time. The feature no longer limits
the choice to look for only 3 dungeon groups at one time.
Great, the 3 dungeon limit is very annoying when you're at maximum
level and got a whole range you'd like to do - the "anything except
the daily that I've already done" option isn't there currently!
o As part of the matchmaking system, some of the more
difficult dungeons will have a minimum gear requirement. Players also
need to meet the requirements for dungeons that require attunement,
such as keys or quests. If a player does not meet the requirements for
a particular dungeon, a lock icon will be displayed next to that
dungeon. Hovering over this icon will display the requirements which
have not been met.
Good, I don't actually see any of the original lvl 80 places needing a
gear requirement, but I'd assume something like "not in all greens"
for ToC (especially heroic) and there's new 5-mans coming with
icecrown I think? I'd assume they need better gear. While I hate the
current trend of demanding overgeared people, I do realise that
undergeared in a place that really needs good gear is also asking for
trouble, so hopefully this will strike a suitable balance.
o A Vote Kick feature will be available in the event a
member of a party is not performing to the expectations of the other
members.
Good, was thinking you could easily have a ruin spoilt by somebody
who's ebayed their character or was just an obnoxious idiot. This
should solve that.
o Players who leave the group prematurely are subject to a
Deserter debuff preventing them from using the Dungeon System tool for
15 minutes.
Also good, although I'd personally make it 30 minutes or so.
o If an existing group loses a member, the leader will be
asked if he or she wants to continue the dungeon. Choosing to continue
will automatically place the group back into the Dungeon System queue.
Good to have an option there. Wonder if it'll let the new person know
in advance that it's a partially complete instance?
o A Player will not be placed in a group with people on his
or her Ignore list.
Very good! In that case I'll actually start using my ignore list,
there's a few people who I currently will not group with if I can
possibly avoid them but I've left them off ignore so that I can see if
it's them organising VoA runs etc (so I know not to enter the LFG tool
if they are ;-)), but if this automatically lets me avoid them, great.
o Players who take part in groups who have one or more
members who have been matched with them randomly from within the
Dungeon System will receive extra rewards, up to and including the
coveted Perky Pug non-combat pet. The more random players with whom
one groups, the faster the pet can be obtained.
Nice idea to add a little extra incentive, but not one that matters
too much, so people who prefer guild runs won't feel forced into
pugging.
+ Need Before Greed will now recognize gear
appropriate for a class in three ways: the class must be able to equip
the item, pure melee will be unable to roll on spell power items, and
classes are limited to their dominant armor type (ex. paladins for
plate). All items will still be available via Greed rolls as well as
the new Disenchant option should no member be able to use the item.
Sounds good. Has potential to be a little frustrating; if my shaman
needs a cloth item, no clothy in the group wants it and others don't
pass the greed roll, it'd be more than a little frustrating, but they
do need to implment this to try and reduce ninjas as much as possible.
At least in WotLK content there's suitable gear for everybody so
you're not often forced to use a wrong armor type for lack of options.
I feel very very sorry for lowbie hybrids though, unless some serious
re-itemisation takes place of lower level gear - I remember my
elemental shaman levelling in entirely cloth due to the *zero*
spellpower mail items being available in Azeroth... balance druids are
little better off, and I assume holy paladins are in the same boat,
although that's not so much a levelling spec at least.
